On 2 March 2022 the yearly housekeeping competition took place at the vocational college BBS Osnabruck-Haste in Lower Saxony. The event was organized by the Lower Saxony State Association of Housekeeping Professions (MdH) and the local vocational college.

The trainee housekeepers were highly motivated to do their best at solving the various tasks. In their training companies they had already planned and tried out the recipes taking into account the customer orientation as well as the sustainability and economics. In advance they had had to write a shopping list for the ingredients as well as to plan the work steps. Furthermore the trainees had prepared a presentation of their training companies. These included for example retirement homes or conference locations or a children´s hospice.

The assessment team consisted of housekeeping teachers and masters of housekeeping from Osnabruck or from the surrounding area supported by students of the technical college  BBS Osnabruck-Haste.

The winners were rewarded with winner certificates by the teamleader Ms Meyer and received as a gift the cookbook „Osnabrücker Landkochbuch“ with delicious recipes from Northern Germany. They will be invited to the Lower Saxony competition which will take place on 30 April 2022 at the Conerus-Schule Norden. Due to the coronavirus this will be conducted digitally. If the trainees are successful in Norden they will get the chance to show off their skills at the national competition in 2023.

All in all it was a really inspiring day for all the participants!
